COVID-19 Excuse?!
October 3, 2021

I am not going to lie, I wanted to use the excuse of COVID being the reason I haven’t posted an article in a while, but it isn’t COVID’s fault (there is plenty of fault there already). To be honest, I’ve just been lazy. There, I said it, now we can move past the fact it’s been almost a year since I posted something (I also didn’t realize it has been that long until I started writing this OOPS!).

Portrait photos are what I generally shoot on a regular basis, but I also shoot product and landscape photos as well. Typically when I shoot landscapes, architectural, street photography, etc. I do so for fun, or because I stumbled across something interesting. It’s those different photos that I capture that I will enter into photo contests, and as such, I entered this photo into the Powerful Composition exhibition challenge on GuruShots.

Why you SHOULD be displaying your photos!
September 23, 2020

It’s easy for people to just lump “photos” into one category, especially more than ever since we are a digital society now. However, it is becoming increasingly more important for you to focus on displaying photos in your home. Let’s dig into this deeper and see why.

Shooting in a Pandemic
August 6, 2020

This time last year I was worried about shooting in the Texas heat. Who would have thought that a year later the world would come to a halt and change the way we live our lives. Now we have No Shirt, No Shoes, No Mask, No Service (apparently pants are still optional), many businesses are closed and unable to operate, and I spend more money on paying people to bring food to my house than I thought was possible.

Las Vegas & WPPI 2020
May 21, 2020

It is that time of the year again, time to go back to Las Vegas! I never expected to return to Vegas a year after my first time visiting, but I did exactly that. The first trip to Vegas I took was to check out my photo on display at the WPPI 2019 Expo, after meeting so many nice people and having such a great time, we decided to head back and experience a lot more things Vegas and WPPI had to offer.

Automotive Light Painting
October 16, 2019

A few months ago in the Behind the Lens facebook group, Rodrigo and Joseph posted some shots of Joseph’s new car. They did a technique called “Light Painting”. This is something that my friend Brad and I had talked about doing for quite some time, but haven’t had a chance to try it out. Rodrigo sent me some information they used to do the light painting technique and Brad and I setup a time for us to give it a shot.

COVID-19 Excuse?!

COVID-19 Excuse

I am not going to lie, I wanted to use the excuse of COVID being the reason I haven’t posted an article in a while, but it isn’t COVID’s fault (there is plenty of fault there already). To be honest, I’ve just been lazy. There, I said it, now we can move past the fact it’s been almost a year since I posted something (I also didn’t realize it has been that long until I started writing this OOPS!).

On a side note: we should have called it COVID-2020 so we can just cover the entire spectrum of 2020.

A lot has happened over the past year that I should have been posting, but I haven’t. I will be posting up some of those big ticket items soon-ish. I was pretty happy to see that I did some updates to my blog styling as well and it’s been so long I forgot about it (yay me, surprising myself). Let’s all take a bet and see if I can finish off 2021 with a strong posting schedule.

About This Photo

I could literally write a book about this photo, but I will keep it short and sweet. Piper lost her 2 front teeth and I wanted to capture that memory. I didn’t want to do it in a normal way so I was joking about her getting them knocked out, then I remembered that Christen had a set of boxing gloves (DING! - Idea!). We went and bought her an outfit and setup the shoot. Piper really didn’t want to do it, so I had to bribe her with Robux (if you don’t know what they are - you are the lucky one). Eventually she gave it her all and I was thrilled that the shot came out the way it did.
