Behind The Lens:

Behind the Lens is a look into what is happening with Specht Designs Photography. It has also grown into a community of photographers, talent, and like-minded people who believe in contributing to the enjoyment of the art-of-photography. This is some exciting news for me! I’ve had my photos printed and displayed in galleries across the world; however, this exhibition is one that hits home, literally.

This photo was selected to be printed and displayed at the WPPI Exposition, which is located in Las Vegas, Nevada! The WPPI Exposition is the largest expo in the US for photographers, videographers, and industry professionals, so it’s even more exciting that my photo will be displayed in front of tens of thousands of photography professionals.

The WPPI Exposition, along with GuruShots, B&H Photo/Video, and Canon, is featuring the “Exhibition Shot” exhibition and they chose my photo to be printed live by Canon, and put on display at the expo.

I’ve already booked my hotel and flight information, so I plan on being there for opening night, as well as, when they print my photo live at the expo! Stay tuned for photos from my trip!

Also, the photo posted below is the Pleasure Pier shot from the opposite side of the photo above. The ironic thing about this night shot is that was the shot I had planned on taking; however, while waiting for the sun to go down I decided to get a shot of the pier during golden hour. It is funny how you can plan a shoot down to every detail and sometimes it is just the random chance shots that get all the glory. I love both shots though!

COVID-19 Excuse?!

I am not going to lie, I wanted to use the excuse of COVID being the reason I haven’t posted an article in a while, but it isn’t COVID’s fault (there is plenty of fault there already). To be honest, I’ve just been lazy. There, I said it, now we can move past the fact it’s been almost a year since I posted something (I also didn’t realize it has been that long until I started writing this OOPS!).

Shooting in a Pandemic

This time last year I was worried about shooting in the Texas heat. Who would have thought that a year later the world would come to a halt and change the way we live our lives. Now we have No Shirt, No Shoes, No Mask, No Service (apparently pants are still optional), many businesses are closed and unable to operate, and I spend more money on paying people to bring food to my house than I thought was possible.
